Storing items where you use them soothes mental and physical clutter. Think of the time you will save when you don’t have to run to the back bedroom to get that kitchen appliance. Not enough space in the kitchen? Reconsider what you are hanging onto.
Save Big Projects For Later
When creating order throughout your home, leave the large projects for later. Things like organizing the photo albums, completing the knitting or quilting project and the scrap-booking you never got to. Place each project in a bin and clearly label it. When you have your home in order, choose one project a week or a month to complete. It will be so much easier to finish these projects in an organized space.
The Test
To keep it or not to keep it:
Ask yourself three questions about everything you own:
1) Do I feel good when I see or think of the item?
2) Do I absolutely love it?
3) Is it useful?
If you cannot answer yes to all three, it might be time to let go.
